Doug has worked in health care and public affairs for nearly 20 years. He is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University with a degree in political theory and international relations. He recently completed a Master's in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan's School of Public Health. He was a fellow with the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University and received his Master’s of Political Science from Wayne State University. Doug is an elected member of the Association of American Medical Colleges government affairs steering committee and is also a statewide leader on the Governor's infant mortality initiative.

Doug has worked in Congress, the New York Legislature, and the Michigan Legislature. He has served in numerous political leadership positions including statewide and legislative campaigns. In addition to positions at St. John Health and Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, Doug has spent the past six years helping to manage development and government affairs at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and the University Physician Group.

Lori has worked for the School of Medicine and University Physician Group for 13 years including time in the Dean’s office, development and alumni affairs, and now with the division of external affairs. She has spent her career working with non-profits including the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, Lutheran Social Services, and the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
